Meet Marvel's new superheroes: Snowflake and Safespace

Editors note: This is satirical. This isn’t fiction*

Marvel Comics recently introduced the proteges that will mentor under the original New Warriors in the Outlawed spinoff miniseries. One of the "new" New Warriors, Snowflake, has been confirmed to be a non-binary superhero. A super power which allows Snowflake to enter both the male and female toilets. Quite handy in a world where crime can and does, occur in both locations.

"The connotations of the word 'snowflake' in our culture right now are something fragile, and this is a character who is turning it into something sharp.”

Snowflake's twin, Safespace, is also one of the newest New Warriors. "Snowflake is the person who has the more offensive power, and Safespace is the person who has the more defensive power. The idea is that they would mirror each other and complement each other," he added. We have yet to be told what the defensive powers of Safespace are, but an unofficial leak has suggested that it might be the liberal arts classroom at a well known college campus.

The Psychic Twins are fully aware of the online connotations of their codenames. They see being superheroes as “a post-ironic meditation on using violence to combat bullying.”

Written by Daniel Kibblesmith and illustrated by Luciano Vecchio, New Warriors #1 goes on sale April 15.
